I have begun to read the book on Early Christian Liturgics and thus far, I find it to be a comfortable read for anyone who desires to delve deeper and heighten their understanding of the biblical origin of liturgy. Growing in the grace and knowledge of God illumines our spiritual discernment to see that we do not take it upon ourselves to give form to worship but we allow worship to give form to us. God decides the nature, structure and spirit of worship. St. John 4:24 clearly directs us, "God is a spirit, and they that worship Him must worship him in spirit and truth." In pnuema and alethes; our mode of worship is not via flesh it selfless and we transcend the natural to the spiritual via of our spirit. Our method is truth or non concealing, revelatory....ultimately, the response to God's Self-revelation. From the origin of our existence God Himself takes the initiative, God reveals Himself in order for man to worship Him correctly and God determines how He is to be worshiped. So far this study should provoke us to evaluate our fundamentals of true worship in order to achieve the glorious manifestation of God in our lives. The Lord be with you.
